As an attachment based and formally trained EFT therapist, Christina focuses on helping individuals and families maintain healthy connections and repair ruptures when necessary.
Christina works from the perspective that we form our sense of self based on our connections to those we care about most in our lives: our partners, children, parents and family members. These deeply rooted connections are what guide and motivate us to live meaningful lives. She understands that when these connections are strained, damaged or ruptured we can feel lost, disconnected and alone.
With Christina, couples build confidence and reconnect while being accepted for who they are individually. Using the EFT model, partners learn how their repeated negative cycles cause confusion, hurt and emotional distance.
Christina’s work with individuals focuses on healing the impact of trauma, difficult life circumstances and troubling relationships.
Wellness is fortunate that Christina also works with young people. She understands that children’s lives today are vastly different from those of their parents. Teens and young adults are under more pressure to achieve and parents are experiencing more anxiety to help them get there. Plus, they have vastly more connections to the outside world with access to more people, world events and information than any previous generation, yet often feel isolated, insecure and alone.
When working with young people, Christina meets with parents on occasion. She inspires and supports them as they learn to remain present with their children while fine-tuning parenting styles. This helps create more emotional safety, trust and closeness in the family unit.
Christina is a graduate of St. Louis University, The University of South Carolina School of Social Work and is a clinical member of the following professional organizations:
- The National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
- International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT)
