Mackenzie Morris | Graduate Intern

Mackenzie Morris Emotionally Focused Therapist

In-Person Sessions Available

Mackenzie is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. She is passionate about helping couples identify, understand, and repair their negative cycle.

Mackenzie is a Marriage and Family Therapy Graduate Intern from Pfeiffer University and is scheduled to graduate in 2025. She received her BA in Human Development and Family Sciences from Auburn University.

At Auburn, Mackenzie worked with students and others while completing her practicum and internship. During that time, she discovered her passion for helping people explore a more in-depth understanding of themselves and how they effect their interpersonal relationships. Exploring and living authentically are two of Mackenzie’s core values and she will walk compassionately with you as you find the truest version of yourself.

Couples experiencing disconnection are often in a negative cycle that has taken over their ability to effectively communicate. They find it difficult to be empathic, listen to each other or understand each other’s point of view. Mackenzie has a passion for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the most empirically validated approach to supporting relationships. She recognizes that through EFT, partners are able to understand themselves better, be more vulnerable with each other and ultimately find connection.

Mackenzie is passionate about people and being of service. She understands how important it is to feel safe and accepted in relationship and in the therapeutic process. Her commitment is to help clients find new ways of communicating and creating positive change.

As a Graduate Intern from Pfeiffer University, Mackenzie’s services are provided at a reduced fee while she works under the Supervision of Dr. Anne Hancock.

“Love relationships are not bargains; they are emotional bonds based on our innate need for safe and emotional connection.” ~Sue Johnson
